CTW InfoComm 2012 Coverage: Digico SD5

Announced just a few months ago, we get our first look at the new SD5. Slotting in between the SD7 and the SD10, it offers 124 channels, 56 assignable busses, a 24×24 matrix and a whole lot more. Plus it has 3 big and bright touch screens making it faster than ever for get to the function you need.

    I like the AUX VCA options that they are rolling out. Especially since we are running monitors and FOH from our Venue. Now I just have to use the multi-select when in Flip to Faders mode. Also saving the AUX mixes as a preset is nice as well.

    Also enjoyed the little promo that Digico updates are free. I wish Avid would see the light on this and realize that after spending 60k+ on our console it feels like nickel and dime to charge a couple of hundred bucks for each release.
